Halloween Dress Up Ideas for Your Little One
Posted on October 11 2019
Halloween is just around the corner, and you know what that means: it’s time to come up with your costume ideas!
There’s seriously nothing more adorable than a little one all dressed up as their favorite princess, superhero, cartoon, or character. And when they’re too young to decide their “favorite” for themselves, it’s the perfect opportunity to dress them up in your favorite costume idea.
To help you out, we’ve gathered together a few of the best ideas we found around the web to get you started.
Families that dress together stay together! We love costumes where the entire family matches and follows a theme or idea. There are seriously so many endless possibilities when it comes to your family that it’s hard to choose a favorite, but we’ve got to go with a classic.
On Pinterest, we found this stunning family dressed as Peter Pan! The dad is Captain Hook, the mom is Wendy, the little boy is Peter Pan, and the little girl is Tinkerbelle! It’s a fairly simple costume idea, but we think that’s what makes it so great!
Baby Gumball Machine
Sometimes cute wins, and this costume is just the cutest! It’s a simple homemade baby outfit inspired by a love of candy and old-fashioned fun. Who wouldn’t pay 25 cents to see an adorable little boy or gal dressed up in a pom-pom hat?
Going Old School
Sometimes the best costumes are those that go back in time and have a lot of fun. That’s what costumes are all about. That’s why we love this next Halloween dress up idea where your little one goes as the iconic Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.
Seriously, all you need is a Hawaiian shirt, a tutu, and some hair gel. It’s that simple and that perfect of an idea. Check it out on Pinterest.
Quick and Easy Costumes
If you’ve only got a limited amount of time and you are NOT a craft person, don’t worry! There are still some amazing costumes that are perfect for your family. In particular, we love these No-Sew Care Bear Costumes from See Vanessa Craft.
They are so simple to make. Here’s all you need to make a yellow care bear and you just switch out the colors for the rest of the family:
- Felt (yellow, white, and red)
- White hoodie
- Yellow Rit Liquid Dye
- White pipe cleaner
- Yellow Yarn
- Orange puff paint
- Fabric glue
If you’re into cartoons, then you’ll love this DIY Pikachu costume for your little one. After all, who doesn’t want to dress up for Halloween as the cutest little Pokémon there is? This costume by Gina Michele is so easy and amazing. In just a few steps, she transformed an inexpensive yellow fleece into a legitimate Pikachu and her son looks way too happy!
If you love Harry Potter, then you’ll love this too cute baby Harry Potter costume. Everyone will know exactly who your little guy is and you’ll get to put in very little effort to pull it off.
Check out the tutorial from Love and Lion to make it happen. All you need are some round black glasses, a scarf, a lightning-shaped scar, and that’s it! You’re good to go.
Every little one deserves to be their own super hero. The good news is that an awe-inspiring Wonder Woman costume is just a few hours away. You can make a little girl or a little boy costume (because everyone can be Wonder Woman) in just a few steps from Primary.com.
You can watch the two-minute DIY video here or follow their step-by-step instructions.
Who doesn’t love animals? And if you don’t fall in love with this baby cow costume, you must be lactose intolerant! We know this costume from Make It and Love It will get you in the mooo-d to Trick-or-Treat and it’s super simple to make and an udder treat!
All you need is a white bodysuit and a white hat. Then, pick up some black fleece (for the spots and ears) and some pink fleece (for the ears). From there, buy four tan bottle nipples and some glue. Then, start putting it all together.
